Why the Quaranzine?
We, as a society, are experiencing a traumatic episode that affects our lives and the lives of our loved ones. For our immigrant community, this loss of safety can also be experienced in different ways.
In these challenging times, we need to rely on social media to keep connected with the public and with each other. We need to provide safe and useful advice so we can contribute to the well-being of the community.
We can offer exercises aimed to help to face the trauma of Coronavirus and cope with the different circumstances in their lives more positively and healthily.
Our goal is to contribute to the wellness of society.
On May 7th we had our IBelong event: "Facing COVID-19 with Wellness and Resilience". We gathered information and resources and after this wonderful event, we decided to create a zine as part of our Campaign “Wellness and Resilience for Uncertain Times" to share those useful resources with immigrants and nonimmigrants.
We are so happy to have been shared a different quarantine post on social media every week for 2 months. Also, you can find them on Languages and Learning Center from the Free Library.
