Networking event to meet professionals from the world: Europe, Africa, South America, and the United States.
Global Brains of Philly 2 was an event for 30 people in the International House Philadelphia, 3701 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, PA on September 19th, 2019 6 – 8 pm.
Do you know? 70% of people ended up in their current positions thanks to networking. New connections mean new opportunities!
Our goal was to help every participant to create at least one professional connection with Americans or immigrants with more than 5 years of working experience in the US. In this event, international professionals had the opportunity to make connections and everyone learned and discovered something special about other cultures.
Social capital for (new) immigrants
The barriers that we immigrants face today in this country are very broad.
One of these barriers that the I Belong group is working on is to reduce the lack of networking for the new immigrants in the Greater Philadelphia area.
Employment resources for immigrants
What separates a qualified immigrant and a good job is his lack of a network.
We believe we have to create more opportunities so that the immigrants can join the working force in Philadelphia faster. It's a fact that immigrants boost the economy in Philadelphia, but it's been taking too long for each immigrant to prove that they can do the job.
Our long-term goal:
By creating this recurring event, we together will change the minds of the US companies recruiters about the value of immigrant professionals
To help make Philadelphia a more diverse business community
